Who we are
Driving Test Pal is a small, independent study site. We are not a DMV, and we are not affiliated with any state licensing agency or government. We can’t book appointments or see test results; for those, contact your state’s agency. Always confirm requirements with them before you visit.
How the questions are written
Practice sites are easy to find; accurate ones aren’t. Many reuse the same questions in every state or quote the wrong passing score. We write each state’s questions from that state’s current official driver handbook, so its own speed limits, distances, phone laws and teen rules are the ones you practice.
Every answer links to the handbook page it comes from, so you can check us. Before a question goes live, an automated check confirms that the supporting passage appears on that page and that any number in the answer appears in the passage. Road sign questions come from the federal sign manual every state follows.
How we write and check our questions
What’s free
Practice is free, with no sign-up and no limit on questions:
- every question, with its explanation and handbook citation
- the exam simulator in your state’s format, and drills by topic
- mistake review and a readiness score
- the road sign library and the road-test and retake guides
- read-aloud, large text and the other Access settings
Your progress is saved in your own browser, so you don’t need an account.
Accessibility
Any test can be read aloud with each word highlighted, shown in larger text or higher contrast, or taken untimed in a calmer layout. The site works with a keyboard alone and uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface made for low-vision readers. We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA. If anything gets in your way, tell us and we’ll fix it.
Found a mistake? Get in touch
Handbooks change and we make mistakes. If an answer looks wrong, use “Report a mistake” under the question, or send us a message. A person reads every one.
