Full privileges normally start at 17. You can get them at 16 and a half only if you completed an approved driver education course and have held an intermediate license for six months. Driver education is the trade-off for the earlier start.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 7Wyoming's restricted license for 14- and 15-year-olds facing extreme inconvenience is valid only from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and within 50 miles of the licensee's residence. One moving violation, or driving outside those limits, suspends it.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 13The intermediate restrictions are lifted when the person beside you in the front seat is 18 or older and holds a valid license with full privileges. That experienced adult provides the supervision the restrictions are meant to replace.
Wyoming Department of Transportation, Driver Services websiteAn SR-22 is an insurance certificate your insurer files with WYDOT to prove you carry liability coverage. Wyoming requires it to be kept for three years, and the insurer must tell the state if the policy is cancelled.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 28A revocation cancels your license, and you must go through a driver investigation to be relicensed. Offenses causing revocation include a third DWUI, a third reckless driving, leaving the scene of an injury accident and homicide by vehicle.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 27A BAC of 0.08 percent or more may lead to conviction, but you can also be convicted of DWUI at 0.05 percent when other evidence shows you were impaired. Alcohol affects judgment well before 0.08, so the safest plan is not to drink and drive at all.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 37If your BAC at the time of arrest for a first DWUI was .15 percent or higher, you must hold an ignition interlock restricted license for 6 months before getting any other license. The device stops the car from starting if it detects alcohol on your breath.
Rules of the Road - State of Wyoming Driver License Manual, page 20Wyoming DWUI penalties grow with each offense within 10 years: a 90-day suspension for a first, a one-year suspension for a second, and a three-year revocation for a third. Repeat offenses within that window are treated more harshly because they show a pattern of impaired driving.
