  • Questions are drawn fresh from the full Georgia bank each time.

Sample questions

  1. What is the minimum age to get a Class M motorcycle license in Georgia?

    • A 17
    • B 15
    • C 16
    • D 18
    Show answer

    A. 17

  2. If you need to both brake and swerve to avoid a hazard, how should you do it?

    • A Brake hard throughout the swerve
    • B Use only the front brake while swerving
    • C Brake before or after the swerve, never during it
    • D Use only the rear brake while swerving
    Show answer

    C. Brake before or after the swerve, never during it

Swerving uses traction to change direction, and braking uses traction to slow. Doing both at once can overload the tires, so separate them: brake, then swerve, or swerve, then brake.

  3. How much of your total stopping power can the front brake provide?

    • A About 25%
    • B About 50%
    • C Less than 10%
    • D 70% or more
    Show answer

    D. 70% or more

When you brake, weight shifts forward onto the front tire, so the front brake can supply 70% or more of your stopping power. That is why you must use it, together with the rear brake, every time you slow or stop.

  4. What minimum following distance does the manual recommend for new riders?

    • A 2 seconds
    • B 3 seconds
    • C 1 second
    • D 4 seconds
    Show answer

    D. 4 seconds

New riders should keep at least a 4-second following distance. Motorcycles need as much distance to stop as cars, and the extra time gives you room to stop or swerve.
