  2. You reach an intersection where the traffic lights are completely dark from a power outage. What must you do?

    • A Go through, since there is no red light
    • B Slow down and go with caution, as at a flashing yellow
    • C Stop only if you are on the smaller road

What does a flashing yellow left-turn arrow mean?

    • A You have a protected turn; oncoming traffic is stopped
    • B You may turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians

    • D Left turns are prohibited

  4. A pedestrian signal starts flashing 'DON'T WALK' while a person is halfway across. What should that person do?

    • A Return to the curb they started from
    • B Stop and wait in the middle of the street
    • C Finish crossing the street
    • D Wait for the next WALK signal before moving

    C. Finish crossing the street

A flashing pedestrian signal means do not leave the curb, but finish crossing if you have already started. Drivers should expect pedestrians still in the crosswalk as the light changes.
