Sample questions from this test

  1. Road sign for this question

A yellow sign shaped like a pennant (a sideways triangle) on the left side of the road means:

    • A Yield ahead
    • B School zone
    • C Road work ahead
    • D No passing zone
    Show answer

    D. No passing zone

The pennant shape is used for the No Passing Zone sign. No passing zones are on hills or curves where you cannot see far enough ahead to pass safely, so finish any pass before you reach the zone.

  2. What does a yellow line on the road tell you?

    • A Traffic on the other side moves in the opposite direction
    • B Traffic on the other side moves in the same direction
    • C The lane is reserved for buses
    • D You are next to the right edge of the road

  3. Why should you turn your wheels sharply toward the side of the road when you park on a hill?

    • A So it is easier to pull out later
    • B So the car rolls away from traffic if it starts to move
    • C So the parking brake holds the car more firmly on the slope
    • D So other drivers know you are parked
    Show answer

    B. So the car rolls away from traffic if it starts to move

Turning your wheels toward the side of the road means that if the car rolls, it moves away from traffic. Also set the parking brake and leave the car in park or the correct gear.

    • D 0.04% or more
    Show answer
