Driving skills test
The Wyoming driving skills test is an on-road drive with a WYDOT driver examiner in your own vehicle, over a route with intersections, stop lights and other normal-traffic situations. Failing to obey state law is grounds for automatic failure. WYDOT does not publish how long the test takes, a list of maneuvers, or a point scale.

First-time applicants who have never been licensed anywhere must pass the skills test. For an intermediate permit at 16 you must have held a learner's permit for at least 10 days, have 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving (10 at night) certified, have a parent or guardian sign, and pass the skills test with Driver Services or through an approved driver education program. At 17 you may get a full license by passing the vision, written and skills tests. Many exam stations require you to schedule the skills test in advance (through oneWYO or by calling the office). The examiner checks your car before you drive. If it fails, you usually can’t take the test that day.
WYDOT does not publish a point system or error limit. The examiner judges whether you can drive safely in normal traffic, and failing to obey state law is grounds for automatic failure. Any one of these ends or fails a Wyoming road test, no matter how well the rest goes.
Steps and scoring come from Wyoming Department of Transportation, Driver Services’s own materials, in their words where possible. Where a state publishes no steps, we say so rather than guess.

Wait at least 24 hours before testing again; the examiner can require a longer wait (days or weeks), most often because you need more practice. The examiner may waive the skills test if you show a certificate from an approved driver education course (30 hours classroom and 6 hours behind the wheel, honored for up to two years), but waiver is not guaranteed. An approved driver education program may also give the intermediate-permit skills test. A valid out-of-state license can also lead to a waiver. Your own vehicle (legally licensed, registered and insured); Your current Wyoming or out-of-state permit (surrendered for the intermediate permit); Real ID identity documents; Proof of 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving, 10 at night (certification form FSGDL-01; the log is optional); Application signed by a parent or guardian (under 18); and Driver education certificate of completion, if asking for the skills test to be waived.
Legally licensed, registered and insured; Seat belts for the driver and the front-seat passenger; Working brakes and brake lights, headlights and tail lights, turn signals and horn; Rearview and driver-side mirrors; Doors that open from inside and outside; No windshield cracks that block the driver's view; and Windshield wipers, and tires that are not frayed or bulging.

WYDOT publishes no Class C skills-test score sheet, point scale, test length or list of required maneuvers on dot.state.wy.us or in the 2021 'Rules of the Road' manual, which is still the current manual. The only automatic-failure rule published is 'failure to obey state law'. Retest wait: the 2021 manual says applicants who fail must wait 24 hours; the current WYDOT testing page says the examiner can require a wait of days or weeks. Wyoming's statutes (Title 31, chapter 7) and the archived WYDOT driver-license rules set no wait for a non-commercial road test. The two WYDOT sources fit together, so this page follows both: at least 24 hours, longer if the examiner says so. Older WYDOT rule filings archived on wyoleg.gov (2009/2012) were not used because they may not be current. Interpreters are allowed on the non-CDL skills test.
