A steady yellow arrow appears together with a circular green light. What does the yellow arrow tell you?
- A You must stop for a pedestrian
- B You may turn without yielding
- C Your protected turn is ending

A steady yellow arrow follows a green arrow to show that the protected turn is ending. If a circular green stays on, you may still turn but must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

A steady red X is lit above your lane. What does it mean?
- A You may drive in that lane with caution
- B You must not drive in that lane
- C You must stop and wait for it to turn green
- D The lane is reserved for left turns only
Show answer
B. You must not drive in that lane
Lane-use control signals hang over individual lanes. A steady red X means you shall not drive in the lane under it, so move to a lane showing a green arrow.
