You and another car arrive at about the same time at an intersection with no traffic lights, stop signs or yield signs. The other car is on your right. What does the Arizona manual tell you to do?

    • A Stop, then let the car on your right go first
    • B Go first, because you are on the left
    • C Slow down and go first if you are already moving faster
    • D Stop, then go first, since you are going straight

    A. Stop, then let the car on your right go first

Arizona treats an intersection with no lights or signs like a four-way stop: both drivers stop completely. If two vehicles arrive at about the same time, the driver on the left yields to the driver on the right, so here the other car goes first.

    • A The driver on the through road
    • B Whichever driver is going faster

    D. The driver on the road that ends

At a T intersection, the driver on the street that ends must yield to vehicles on the cross street. The through street keeps moving, so the driver joining it must wait for a gap.
