You reach an intersection where the traffic signal is completely dark because of a power failure. What should you do?
- A Treat it as a four-way stop
- B Go through if you are on the busier road
- C Slow down and go if no one is coming
- D Treat it as a flashing yellow light
Show answer
A. Treat it as a four-way stop
Treat an inoperative signal like a four-way stop: stop completely, then go when the roadway is clear. If two vehicles arrive at about the same time, the driver on the left yields to the driver on the right.
