What is the acceleration lane on a highway entrance ramp for?
- A Passing slower cars already on the highway
- B Driving slowly until the highway clears
- C Stopping to wait for a large gap
- D Reaching the speed of highway traffic before merging
Show answer
D. Reaching the speed of highway traffic before merging
Use the acceleration lane to match the speed of highway traffic, find a gap and merge. Traffic already on the highway has the right of way, so make sure it is clear before you move over.

Where may a moped NOT be operated in Kentucky?
- A On any road with a speed limit over 25 mph
- B On limited-access highways with a minimum speed over 30 mph
- C On city streets after dark
- D On two-lane state highways
Show answer
B. On limited-access highways with a minimum speed over 30 mph
Mopeds cannot be driven on limited-access highways where the minimum speed is more than 30 mph. Mopeds top out around 30 mph, so they cannot safely keep up with that traffic.
