Sample emergencies & crashes questions

  1. Your brakes stop working while you are driving. What should you try first?

    • A Shift straight into park
    • B Turn the ignition to lock
    • C Pump the gas pedal to build pressure
    • D Apply the parking brake slowly
    Show answer

    D. Apply the parking brake slowly

If your brakes fail, use the parking brake, applying it slowly so the rear wheels do not lock and skid. If that does not work, turn off the engine and find a safe place to slow to a stop off the road.

    D. Grip the wheel firmly, ease off the gas and avoid braking hard
