On a freeway with three or more lanes, where should you usually drive?
- A In the left lane, since it is the fastest
- B In the right lane at all times, even during rush hour
- C In whichever lane has the fewest trucks
- D In the far right or center lane, using the left lane for passing
Show answer
D. In the far right or center lane, using the left lane for passing
Most of the time, drive in the far right or center lane of a freeway. The left lane is for higher-speed traffic and passing, and in rush hour you should avoid the right lane so entering drivers have room.
