No outlet sign

Warning signs

No outlet sign

The road ahead has no other way out; you will have to come back the same way.

MUTCD designation W14-2. See the federal MUTCD, page 211.

How to read signs like this

Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds. They tell you about a hazard or change ahead (curves, intersections, merges, slippery roads) so you can slow down before you get there.

    B. Its streets have no exit except the way you came in

NO OUTLET is used at the entrance to a road or group of streets with no other exit. Unlike DEAD END, the area may have several streets, but all of them lead back to where you entered. Enter only if your destination is inside.
