T-intersection sign
The road ends ahead at a T-intersection. You will have to turn left or right.
MUTCD designation W2-4. See the federal MUTCD, page 219.
How to read signs like this
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds. They tell you about a hazard or change ahead (curves, intersections, merges, slippery roads) so you can slow down before you get there.
Practice question
What does this sign tell you about the road you are on?
- A A road crosses yours ahead
- B The road ahead is a dead end with no way out except back
- C Your road ends ahead, so you must turn left or right
- D A divided highway begins ahead
Show answer
C. Your road ends ahead, so you must turn left or right
The T shape means the road you are on meets a cross road and does not continue. Slow down early and prepare to stop or turn. There may be a stop sign at the junction.
