You are driving inside an Oklahoma city when you are involved in a crash in which another driver is injured. Under Oklahoma law, whom must you notify, and when?
- A The local police department, immediately by the quickest means
- B Your insurance company, within 10 days, and no one else

Show answer
A. The local police department, immediately by the quickest means
When a crash injures or kills anyone, Oklahoma law requires the driver to notify police immediately by the quickest means, such as calling 911. Inside a city, that is the local police department; outside a city, it is the county sheriff or the nearest Highway Patrol office. Quick notice gets help to the injured and an officer to the scene.
