- A Turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians
- B Turn left immediately, because oncoming traffic must stop for you
- C Stop and wait for a solid green arrow
- D Do not turn left from this lane

A. Turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians
A flashing yellow left-turn arrow allows a turn, but only after you yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians. Oncoming traffic has the right-of-way, so slow down and pick a safe gap.

A police officer is directing traffic at an intersection with a working green light. Whom do you obey?

- B The traffic signal

You must obey traffic signals except when an officer is directing traffic; then you obey the officer at all times. Officers take over when signals cannot handle the situation safely.
