  4. A police officer directing traffic waves you through an intersection while the traffic light is red. What should you do?

    • B Follow the officer's directions

    • D Turn right only, as allowed on red

    B. Follow the officer's directions

A police officer's directions outweigh traffic lights and signs. Officers direct traffic when signals fail or conditions call for it, so do what the officer signals even if the light says otherwise.
